Traveling Neighborhood Plate

Last weekend I came across a message board at The Amish Cook, where a few ladies were talking about what to put on a traveling neighborhood plate. My gosh, I was impressed with the variety of treats they were putting on one plate:

One gal said she put blueberry muffins, oatmeal raisin cookies and a mini loaf of banana bread on the plate. She was going to include some Amish Friendship bread but the starter for that takes 9 days and she didn't want to wait too long.

Another lady said her plate had rice krispy treats, chocolate chip cookies and a cranberry nut bar on it. (And here I am, giving my own plates to people and cheating with one variety of bakery made cookies... )

One lady mentioned us! (Thank you Maggie!) And there was also a mention of Boo-ing or Ghosting at Halloween. That is so much fun - I'll tell you more about that later.

The picture above is a Traveling Neighborhood Plate that one of the ladies bought. It's nice, but it's plastic and no tracking number like Pass It On Plates has. Regardless, these plates are fun to pass along. And if you're ambitious in the kitchen, they're fun to showcase your baking skills!
