Cleaning up for the party

Gosh, this is easy; I didn't even have to vacuum or dust. Too bad it wasn't this easy in real life.

The Pass It On Plates blog will be having an open house at the 5th Annual Mommyfest Blog Party, which runs from May 12-16, 2008. Bookmark me and stop by for a virtual cuppa joe between those dates to meet all kinds of moms and try your luck at our new fabric naming contest.

Mmmm, I love entertaining.
Especially when I don't have to tidy up the sewing table.

How did PIOP start?

Pam & Frank like to have friends over for meals and fun. Most guests bring food to share, and everyone has a great time. One day Pam realized she had a "mystery plate" in her cupboard from one or more of these such gatherings.

None of her sisters or friends claimed the plate, so their daughter pulled a special paint pen out of the craft drawer and wrote "Share Your Food" on the plate. They cured the paint according to the instructions on the pen and an idea was born.

Pass It On Plates are designed to travel from one home to another, loaded with food or other treats.

To add to the fun, Pam created a Plate Diary for each Pass It On Plate. The unique number written on the underside of each plate corresponds with an online diary for that plate, which tells the story of its journey.

Of course, none of this would have come about without inspiration, suggestions, and help from friends, relatives, dinner parties, pot luck dinners, Pam & Frank's semi-regular "friends-n-family board game night," kind neighbors, food days at work, and a few local businesses.
